Lucia Neri

After spending her childhood and adolescence in Bolivia, Lucia Neri moved to France at the age of 20 to study architecture at the École nationale supérieure d'architecture de Paris-Malaquais. She worked as a salaried architect in various architectural firms in France, Bolivia and Mexico.
Her artistic work is now developed between Bolivia and France. Self-taught, intuitive and lively, her work cannot be summed up in a single medium because she experiments with photography, drawing, video, sculpture… She questions History and its hidden stories in order to understand the voracious extractivism that Latin America is undergoing today. She summons micro-histories of the order of the intimate and the feminine, past, present and future, to thwart the making of Western History: linear, heroic and adulatory of progress.
